Fess Parker Wine Dinner 10/21

October 3rd, 2011 Elliott No comments

Pictured above is Davy Crockett himself, Fess Parker standing on his vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley.  If you’ve seen the movie Sideway’s you’ll remember the scene where Paul Giamatti’s character, Miles, does something spectacularly uncouth with a spit bucket while at the fictional Frass Canyon vineyard!  Frass Canyon was really Fess Parker Winery!

Join us Friday, October 21st for our 4-course Fess Parker wine dinner!  Guests will be greeted with a glass of wine prior to dinner to savor as fellow guests arrive.  At 7:30 the house will be seated for dinner.  A representative from Fess Parker will then walk diners through an elegant portfolio of star quality!  This is one dinner event you won’t want to miss.

Cheaper on Daniel Island

August 13th, 2010 Elliott No comments

Here @ Laura Alberts, Ty Caton’s 2006 Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is cheaper than @ the winery in California.  Usually, it’s the other way around – we can’t comment on any “factory connection” but we can say that once it’s gone, it’s gone!

What’s a better way to welcome grilling season than with a classic Sonoma Cab alongside your favorite filet, New York strip, or rack of lamb?

The Specs

Don’t say we didn’t warn ya!

So how much cheaper? Well the winery sells it for $75.00 and we’re giving it to you for $70.  That’s $5.00 savings.  Grandma would be so proud!  We’re so darn proud, we broke it down and put it into perspective for you.

$5.00 = 75% of a 6-Pack of Craft Beer, that’s 48 oz or 4 12oz beers.  Uh-huh – This bottle of wine is 25 ounces so $5.00 OFF is a hefty bundle in the beer world.  Here’s another way of looking at it – $5.00 = 1 Hardees Thickburger with half of an order of fries.  That’s a meal.  Or-or a $5.00 Foot Long at Subway.  Just think about it.  Then get in your car and get over here quick.  We’ll have lunch waiting for you!

L.A. We mean Wine!

June 28th, 2010 Elliott No comments

You might think the L.A. in the title of this blog post stands for Laura Alberts…or Los Angeles (get a grip, we’re on the East Coast).  WRONG!  L.A. means LIMITED AVAILABILITY!  We’ve got some of the most highly allocated WINE in the biz.  If you’ve got a boss to impress, a woman to wine over,….yes wine over, or want to celebrate the 4th of July flaunting some of the best and rarest grape juice in the land – look no further than Laura Alberts!

A phone call away…

  • Leonetti 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley: Not just another Cab. This baby is aged 22 months (that’s almost 2 years!) in NEW and Neutral French Oak barrels.  It’s mostly juice from Cabernet grapes, however, it’s got a little bit of Carmenere, Malbec & Merlot juice mixed in for a stellar taste.  Don’t take our word – take Robert Parker’s.  He sat down with this bottle of wine and rated it 93 pts good, which means this Cab is the kind of wine that MAKES occasions$85 per bottle.  Also available in 6 pack case, so you can share with the worthiest of friends

  • Leonetti 2008 Merlot Walla Walla Valley: 100% Merlot aged 15 months in NEW and used French Oak.  This baby’s smooth.  91 pts from Robert Parker, so it’s palatable for the snobs.  Everyone knows that Merlot is the kind of wine you open Monday night, have a glass (and sweet dreams) and by Wednesday/Thursday the wine has loosened it’s belt and gotten down to business with flavor.  $70 per bottle.  Also available in 6 pack cases!  This wine ain’t no one night stand – it’ll stay good all week.

  • Quintessa 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley: Click the link for the specs.  The farmers will tell you that the 2005 harvest lingered in a state of bliss through the fall which allowed the grapes to fully mature.  Thats is farmer talk.  Robert Parker will tell you that he sat down with the bottle and it aced it’s first exam: 94 pts.  That’s a high mark for Professor Parker to give!  We will tell you to call 843-881-4711 or get your ass over here to Laura Alberts because there are only 24 bottles…yes, 2 cases left in the state of South Carolina!  That’s right!  This wine is only a phone call away for us.  Please, if you need a bottle of this vintage for your collection, call or contact us immediately.  $130 per bottle.  24 bottles left in SC.
