French Broad Beer Dinner Thursday 8/18

August 2nd, 2011 Elliott No comments

Join us Thursday, August 18th for an evening with French Broad brewery!  After entering the South Carolina in late 2010, French Broad has been exponentially grown in popularity.  With off-the-wall fusion brews like Rye Hopper, a hoppy rye brew that uses the rounded maltiness and a sharp earthy flavor of malted rye to bridge the maltiness of the barley and the bitterness of the hops, French Broad pushes the boundaries of craft beer beyond hops, water, barley and yeast.

This 4-course/5-beer dinner will be hosted by Andy Dahl from the brewery.  Andy will walk us through French Broad’s wholesome brew lineup while Executive Chef Matt Brigham pairs a Low Country style dish to compliment each brew.   If you love kolsch, hops, rich scotch ales, or creamy porters, you won’t want to miss this dinner.

The Julybation Drink Menu

July 13th, 2011 Elliott No comments

Disclaimer: We are beer geeks.  We love our beer around 50 degrees and in the right glassware for most of the year.  We do get a bit crazy in the month of July, though – when start to accessorize our brews.  We know some rules shouldn’t be broken, but don’t knock it ’til you try it!

Summertime is all about refreshing!  Summer seasonal craft brews are watery, light and refreshing – so we’ve dressed some of our craft beers in their summertime skivvies – check out the new Brewcation Drink Menu – for a limited time only.

The Boy King’s Back

July 6th, 2011 Elliott No comments

We are very excited to be tapping a keg of COAST Boy King Double IPA!  We were lucky enough to get a keg of this highly sought after local brew.  According to the description on COAST Brewing’s website, the Boy King is “highly hopped, yet balanced” and is brewed with “6 hop varietals” including a hefty load of citra hops (pictured above) rendering it “extremely tropical” with hints of “melon and peach“.  Sounds like the recipe for paradise to my hophead ears, but your tastebuds will have to decide for themselves.  Like all hoppy beers, the Boy King is best when fresh!  (A great reason to pour another pint!)  So hop over here to Laura Alberts and get your drink on and your snack on!   Once it’s gone, it’s gone!
