Beer Dinners

We’ve had some pretty serious beer dinners!  Our beer dinners feature 5 or 6 beers from an American craft brewery thoughtfully paired with a hardy course of Southern style cuisine.  Brewmasters & brewery reps like Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head, Dave Kemper of Sierra Nevada, and Steve Hindy of Brooklyn Brewery have shared eloquent stories in the ambience of our dimly lit dining room.

Southern Tier Beer Dinner August/2010

One of the first beers tapped on our growlers station back in 2009 was Southern Tier’s Oak-Aged Un*earthly Double IPA.  Needless to say, we fell in love with it and the rest is history!  Southern Tier is a craft brand we love selling simply because the product is so tasty.  Our Southern Tier Beer Dinner was hosted by then-Advintage SC employee Les Addis (Les has moved on and now represents Allagash Brewing for the entire Southeast!)

We were very lucky to have a dinner hosted by Brooklyn Brewery founder Steve Hindy!  Steve took us back to the foundings of Brooklyn brewery with stories of his first homebrews while stationed overseas protecting freedom.  By far one of the most interesting men in the craft beer industry, Hindy captivated dinnergoers with his knowledge on so many topics – specifically beer.  This event was truly an unforgettable evening at our shop.

Victory Brewing Beer Dinner March/2010

The goal of the dinner early on was to stray from the mainstream Victory flagships like Golden Monkey, HopDevil, etc.  We scored a keg of a highly sought after limited pilsner called CBC Braumeister Pilsner brewed with Tettnanger Hops.  This rarity was served as a ‘bottomless’ reception option at the dinner for guests to enjoy as much of for the entire evening.  It was an amazing event and incredibly fun evening with Victory.  Check out pictures from the event and the menu/brew lineup.
