MERRY IS IN THE HOUSE!!

Merry Edwards Pinot Noir is now available at Laura Alberts.  Merry is known for her mouth       watering Pinot Noirs.  Karen had lunch with Merry Edwards last week and was so impressed by the wines she quickly placed an order.  Merry’s  Pinots are highly sought after and will have you  hooked with first sip. “Echoing the mood of the harvest, the personality of this wine   conveys a strikingly pure fruit character. The deep garnet color is a prelude to its  ripe, dark fruity aroma.  Nearly all the descriptors common to Pinots from our Valley come to mind – black cherry, cola, blueberry, black currant and raspberry are tinged with rich cocoa, chocolate and nutmeg. Each time you return to the glass, another intriguing layer reveals itself. The rich fruit carries forward into a boldly structured palate which is bright yet smooth with a seamless, luxurious finish.  This substantial wine pairs well with lively food flavors. Pinot Envy

March 10th, 2010 Carol No comments

Calling all Pinot lovers. Karen attended the “Pinot Envy” tasting at the Food & Wine Festival last weekend and couldn’t pull herself away from the Falcor table. This 2006 Pinot Noir from Sonoma Valley is only produced during the very best years of harvest. The small lot handcrafted wine offers flavors of black cherry and ripe plum complemented with earth notes of mushrooms and sweet tannins. A silky, medium to full-bodied wine with immediate appeal, consider setting some aside for 4-6 years. Only 400 cases made. Call today to reserve your bottles. Only $34.

We would like to thank everyone who showed up to support the Sip of Daniel Island Water Missions International event last Wednesday!  The proceeds from the event will go to help provide clean water to countries in need.

Growler Hour Wednesday (3/10)
As we do every Wednesday at 5pm, we’ll be tapping something special on the growler station!  This week we will the be tapping a keg of The Bruery “Mischief”  From the website: “This wickedly good golden ale is fiendishly dry-hopped with American hops to add a layer of complexity and mystery to its fruity, dry Belgian-style character. Citrus and resin diabolically combine with ripe melon, pear and slight peppery spice in a precariously effervescent mixture. Enjoy it, but you’ll want to keep an eye out” Come get a growler of this delicious hoppy delight!  Don’t miss out, it’s sure to go fast!

Also, we will be tapping a Mystery Keg.  The mystery beer is $1 a pint.  If you can guess the beer style or the brewery, your pint is free!
